6 Quotes To Get You Through The Day

Sometimes, daily struggles bring you down and really test your patience. These six quotes get me through the day and rebuild my strength.

Philippians 4:13

Philippians 4:13 says, ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” It’s one of the most quoted bible verses. This verse is a reminder to me that I can achieve my goals and dreams using His strength. Sometimes, the daily obstacles that cross my path often bring me down and hold me back. When I don’t feel like putting in a lot of effort and I feel weak, I always remember this verse. It’s through his strength that I can get through life. Everything is accomplishable through His strength.

Excelsior.

One word, multiple reminders. Upon hearing this word, New Yorkers will automatically think of their state motto. When I hear this word, I’m reminded of my favorite movie Silver Linings Playbook. Pat, played by Bradley Cooper, says this throughout the entire movie. After getting out of a psychiatric center for 8 months, Pat remakes himself and starts a new life after being diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Excelsior means having the strength, power, and determination to go throughout life while battling personal obstacles. It means never give up.

Proverbs 31:25

Proverbs 31:25 reads, “She is clothed with strength and dignity and she laughs without fear of the future.” This verse reminds me to not fear the future. My strength will get me through my troubles. Laughter, enjoying life, and living in the moment are much more important than fearing about the future. Be comfortable with yourself and do not stress about the future. Laugh and live in the moment!

Always stay humble and kind.

After reading that quote, Humble and Kind by Tim McGraw is probably playing in your head right now. I’m not that much of a country music fan, but listening to this song, I immediately fell in love with it. The lyrics preach about not holding grudges, showing little acts of kindness, and. To me, this song reminds me about how life is too short to worry about things, be angry, and to hate. Living a life filled with kindness and humility is better than living a life filled with anger. Bitterness keeps you from flying, so live a life giving back to others and life will pay you back.

Psalm 46:5

I’ve always contemplated getting a tattoo and if I were to ever get one, this verse would be it. This verse says, “God is with her, she will not fall.” Much like the other two verses, I know that with God by my side, anything is achievable. I will not fall because of him.

Don’t worry about fitting in when you custom made.

Yup, I did it. I quoted Drake. Views is a classic, no doubt, but out of all of his lyrics, I quote this one. Anyway, Drake’s right. Be yourself. Don’t fit in if we were all made to be individuals. We live the life we want to, so just be yourself and people will like you for who you are.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
