You can't pass up a mouth-watering breakfast that STILL gives you time to hit the snooze button. And you don't have to with these 4 recipes that can be made in 8 minutes or less!

A Green Smoothie

For a refreshing, five-minute breakfast on the go, opt for a smoothie. Green smoothies are a great way to get your veggies in, without all the hassle of cooking them. I prefer spinach because it goes well with almost any flavor and can create a not too sweet smoothie. But if you're trying to kick your sweet tooth, adding cacao powder or vanilla protein can be a great way to achieve a sweeter smoothie, that still goes well with spinach!

My go-to smoothie recipe below:

1 small banana or half a large one

1 tablespoon peanut or almond butter

1 handful of ice

2 handfuls of spinach or mixed greens

1/2 cup almond milk (depending on your preferred consistency)

Optional: Add peanut butter granola or oats for a thicker, and more filling smoothie

Add everything & blend!

Oatmeal

I know oatmeal is usually thought of as bland or tasteless, but it all depends on how you make it! One of the best things about oatmeal is that it's easy to achieve any flavor with various toppings. With these recipes, oatmeal will become your favorite 2-minute meal- that you'll feel good about eating!

Recipe 1:

1/2 cup of original oats

2 tsp of cinnamon

1 tbs of chia seeds

1 banana

1 tbs peanut butter

Stir in the cinnamon and chia seeds to your oats and cook according to the directions. After cooking the oats, cut up 1 banana and add to the bowl with 1 tbs peanut butter.

Recipe 2:

1/2 cup of original oats

3 strawberries

1 tbs chia seeds

1 handful of blueberries

2 tsp honey

Stir in chia seeds and cook the oats according to the package directions. Add in chopped strawberries and blueberries. Drizzle with honey to finish!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
