Growing up, we could always count on the awesome Disney Channel original movies and new episodes of our favorite shows every Tuesday night. Unfortunately for today's viewers, Disney Channel has had a few facelifts since the early 2000s. Children born in the 2000's were in the truly blessed era of Disney Channel, with TV shows that taught us life lessons and tugged on our heart strings.
1. Lizzie McGuire
From 2001 to 2004, this show was probably Disney Channel's most amazing television show for tweens. Lizzie was the cute but awkward girl next door growing up and dealing with real life when she was in middle school. From crushes on boys, annoying little brothers, and buying her first bra, Lizzie McGuire was so easy to relate to.
2. That's So Raven
That's So Raven was Disney's hilarious comedy about a teenage psychic. Raven Symone played her role so well in this show, and there wasn't an episode where we didn't laugh out heads off. The Baxter family was such a dynamic group of people, and the show gave us an awesome look into the craziness that comes along with being a teenage psychic. Kids that watched this show were blown away and wished they could have the powers Raven had.
3. Even Steven's
Sibling rivalry was the main premise of this show. The constant bickering between Ren and Louis gave us such a realistic look into how brothers and sisters fight and argue, while playing pranks and loving each other all at the same time. The Steven's family was so strange but hilarious to watch right when we came home after school.
4. Kim Possible
From naked mole rats to a crime fighting badass, Kim Possible gave us reason to believe we could do anything we wanted. Fighting bad guys while living a normal teenage life made our imaginations go wild.
5. The Suite Life of Zack and Cody
The idea of twins living with their single mother in a hotel in Boston, was one of the most creative plots a show Disney has ever come up with. The Suite Life was hilarious, while also showing us a family that dealt with real life situations. Also, let's not forget how hot Zack and Cody were to us when we were 12 years old.
6. Hannah Montana
One of the last shows created that I consider "Old Disney" was Hannah Montana. The double life of being a teenage pop sensation and a middle school girl was AWESOME. Hannah Montana seemed to be a spin off of Lizzie McGuire with a little twist. Drama at school to pesky older brothers made us laugh until we peed our pants. RIP Hannah Montana, thanks for that Miley Cyrus.
Old Disney Channel Shows helped shape our views of the outisde world while still giving us time to fantasize on as we grew up. The life lessons and emotions these shows made us feel were REAL and still are real. The best part about Disney Channel today is Throwback Thursday nights when they play these shows at midnight. Long live early 2000's Disney Channel.
