6 Monthly Subscriptions To Feed Your Inner Shopaholic

If you're a shopaholic like I am, we sometimes find ourselves looking for the best deals in stores and online. We sign up for every newsletter, and in turn receive a flood of emails, catalogs, coupons, and text alerts illustrating the next big sale that is way too good to pass up. But one little problem stands in the way of our next shopping spree: MONEY. So many sales, so many things to buy and try, so much temptation! How in the world do we decide what to buy? What's worth it? What can we do without? Hopefully, I have come to the rescue to offer you a little insight on these monthly subscriptions I participate in that I swear by. Whether your issue is money, time, or just prefer to shop from the couch, here are some monthly shopping subscriptions totally worth the time and money to continue your retail therapy without breaking the bank or spending a whole afternoon in checkout lines.

1. Ipsy

For under $10 per month, Ipsy will send you five deluxe beauty samples chosen based on a personal "beauty profile" you fill out when you sign up. The absolutely adorable FREE makeup bag your products come in every month is a killer bonus. It's so exciting when the shiny, hot pink package shows up in your mailbox every month.

2. Fragrant Jewels

This is my new obsession. Period. Fragrant Jewels offers bath bombs, candles, and wax melts that smell heavenly. You can purchase products individually or become a part of their Inner Circle (which I did) to save a little money and get a new candle and bath bomb set once a month for under $33. Seem like a splurge? Wait until you see what's inside. There's a ring hidden in each one! The ring comes with a code revealing the value of your ring. Some are worth $10,000!

3. Nadine West

Here's another pink package you'll be dying to see when you open your mailbox. Nadine West asks you to fill out a personal style profile, and in turn, a stylist will put together an outfit just for you once or twice per month (you choose). The best part about Nadine West is that you try on the outfit at home, keep what you like, and send back what you don't. You only get charged for the items you keep. Each package contains an itemized price list to show you how much each item costs (prices range from $10-$30 per item). Then, you have about two weeks to send back what didn't work for you. They include a return label, too! Super hassle free.

4. Birchbox

Birchbox is another fantastic deluxe beauty sample subscription that only costs about $10 per month. I have discovered so many cool brands in makeup, haircare, skincare, and nail care. I subscribe to both Birchbox and Ipsy because I not only get twice the samples and a makeup bag for less than $20 per month, but I also get a wider variety of brands and products. Just fill out the beauty profile and get excited about your Birchbox arriving soon. The website also offers awesome sales on the full-sized versions of the product samples so you can purchase them at a major discount, rather than directly from the department store.

5. Bath & Body Works

Bath & Body Works has an email newsletter version of amazing coupons offering daily, weekly, and monthly deals. You will receive emails about upcoming sales and exclusive coupons for those who sign up for their mailing list that are not available to everyone. Usually, the subscribers get first dibs on all of the sales! I stock up twice per year on about $400 worth of products for under $200! Around once a month, they try really hard to make room for new product, so you can buy full-sized body care, skin care, and home fragrance for next to nothing. All you have to do is keep an eye on those emails.

6. Ginny Marie's Monogram Box

I'm a Southern girl, y'all. I. Love. Monograms. If I had it my way, everything I own would have my initials on it in hot pink Vine font. Thankfully, Ginny Marie's sends personalized items to my door every single month. You can choose which size box you would like to subscribe to, and even the deluxe box is under $66! That's over $100 in products for the largest subscription. If you're not sold on the monogram craze quite yet, for only $22.99 you can get the small box containing two personalized items. It's like Christmas every month.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
