6 Reasons Why You Should Join Alpha Delta Pi

Spring Recruitment is about to begin and that means choosing a sorority that you want to be a part of! I'm currently a member of Alpha Delta Pi at Charleston Southern University and I don't regret my choice for a second. Here are some reasons why you should go ADPi:

1. We Were First!

Alpha Delta Pi was the first sorority to be created by Eugenia Tucker Fitzgerald and 5 other amazing women. You would be joining a sorority that dates all the way back to the 1850s!

2. You Gain Friends & Sisters

When we say "First. Finest. Forever," we really do mean forever. I have made friends in this sorority that I know are people that I’m not going to lose touch with collegiate years. These are women that are going to always be my sisters no matter what. As the saying goes, We Live For Each Other.

3. Most Exciting Day of the Year: Bid Day

You've finally made it.

4. Big Diamond Sisters

This is a sister who has been through what you’re currently going through and who is there to not just guide you through the process of become a Delta Member of Alpha Delta Pi, but she is also there to support you in everything that you do!

5. Mallard Ball

Make sure that you bring a lot of orange and camo for this tradition that is celebrated by ADPi's around the world.

6. We Give Back

Ronald McDonald House Charities and Alpha Delta Pi began a partnership in 1979 that we still proudly uphold to this day.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
