The new Netflix original, “Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life” aired on Friday, and it reeled us back into the fast-talking, coffee-drinking, pun-filled lives of Lorelai and Rory Gilmore. We’ve traveled through life with the Gilmores, and it’s no wonder why this revival has been wholeheartedly welcomed; “Gilmore Girls” provides us with the “to-do’s” and “not to-do’s” of life, all presented through colorful characters and witty banter.
1. Put yourself out there
Do something that you have never done; share what you’re thinking. You never know, it could open new doors for you. Karaoke brought Lorelai and Luke together.
2. Manage your time wisely
Between school, work, hobbies, and everything in-between, it can be hard to find time for eating and sleeping. It’s all about priorities. If there’s anything “Gilmore Girls” has taught us, it’s that sleep and food should be at the top of the list.
3. Mondays come eventually
There are things in life that will come eventually, even if we don’t like it. The good news is that it will eventually pass, just like Mondays.
4. Take a positive spin on things you can't control
Just like Mondays, there are things we can’t control. We can, however, control how we choose to view these uncontrollable situations.
5. Celebrate the little victories
You deserve to celebrate the little victories in life, and what better way than to celebrate “Gilmore Girls” style: with food.
6. Jump
Don't be afraid to take new chances. You jump, I jump, Jack.
