It's that time of the year again, where you start to reevaluate your friendships in order to determine who would make for the perfect roommate. Maybe you already know that you're without a doubt renewing your apartment at The Lodge, or maybe you're hoping those annoying sorority girls are moving out of their theater suite at Willow Trails so you can take over and throw endless keggers every weekend. Whatever your situation may be, you need to know some important information before you come in to sign for your dream apartment with Young America Realty.
1. What is Young America Open Leasing?
Young America's Open Leasing Event takes place in our office at 311 S. Main Street in Normal, IL. This is when the general student population has the chance to lease one of our apartments or houses.
2. When is Young America Open Leasing?
There are multiple different dates you should be looking out for! Keep reading to find out what date fits to help you find your dream apartment.
3. If you plan on renewing your apartment
The period of renewals during open leasing is Sept. 1 through Sept. 23. During this time, you may come into our office to resign your lease for the following year. If you do choose this option, you will receive a $200 Visa Gift Card and a limited edition YA shirt!
4. Group Signing
Group Signing will take place from Sept. 24 to Sept. 26. During this time, Young America Leasing Agents will be working with your RSO in order to provide you with group signing discounts. In order to achieve the discount, 50 percent of your unit must contain prospective tenants that are on the RSO roster. The breakdown is as follows:
8-15 people: priority signing time at market price.
16-32 people: 3.0 percent.
33-44 people: 4.0 percent.
45-75 people: 5.0 percent.
76+ people: 6.0 percent.

5. Current Residents
If you are a current Young America resident and would like to sign up for a property other than the one you currently live in, you can do so from Sept. 28 to Sept. 29.
6. Open leasing for the general public
Open leasing will begin on Wednesday, Sept. 30. This is where everyone has the opportunity to sign up for any available properties through Young America. Be sure to to pitch your tent and get in line in order to grab for your desired apartment!
