With the temperatures dropping quickly and with the realization that blizzards can be real (goodbye, Jonas), normal things start to change as you realize that dang, it's pretty cold outside.
1. Your coat comes out with you everywhere and you hide it in places of random people's homes.
I don't care if it's not stylish, you better believe I'm wearing my obnoxious parka that keeps me nice and warm. And as soon as I get to wherever I'm going, I'm stashing it to get later. There's no way I'm going to freeze walking from place to place.
2. The urge to drive across campus grows.
Though it may just be a 15-minute walk, it feels so much longer when it's cold out. Especially after the sun goes down, it just feels so much nicer to ride in a car.
3. Sweatpants over a dress are a necessity.
For events where you actually do have to wear a dress and have bare legs, it's always nice to invest in a pair of large sweatpants to throw on over. May not be the cutest look, but it sure is the warmest look.
4. More soup and hot coffee, please!
You may be someone who never has soup and really only likes iced coffee, but when you realize your iced coffee is freezing as you walk across campus, it's a no brainer to switch over to hot coffee.
5. Staying in bed seems so much nicer.
Staying in bed for the day always seems nice. But when it's below freezing and you know you won't be able to bear the cold wind, staying in bed with some blankets always beats going outside.
6. You start looking up flights to much warmer destinations.
It doesn't hurt to look up how much it would cost to get to Florida right now...
Whether it's looking for a nice warm beach or layering up, we all try to find the way to cope with the cold and look forward to warmer temperatures.
