We all know that Coachella is the music festival of all music festivals. But is it really worth it? Some say it's overrated. If you add the cost of travel, hotel, and ticket, it might not be worth the trip for everyone. Don't worry though—there are tons of other music festivals in the summer.
1. Governors Ball Music Festival (June 3-5 in NY)

2. Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival (June 9-12 in Manchester, TN)
Known for its array of musical style performances, including rock, jazz, bluegrass, country, folk, and other alternative music, this music festival is held on what's known as Great Stage Park. The performances normally run from around noon to 4 am. There are tons of unique vendors and products sold by craftsmen and artisans, a silent disco, a comedy and cinema tent, and a Ferris wheel.
3. Mysteryland USA (June 10-12 in Bethel Woods, NY)
If you're into EDM, this is the festival for you. This festival dates back to 1993 and is now the world's longest-running music, culture, and art festival. This will be its third running year at the site of the 1969 Woodstock Festival. There are even on-site campgrounds you can stay on with your group. Headliners include ODESZA, Skrillex, and Bassnectar. Ticket costs depend on if you just want to go to the festival, or if you want to camp as well.
4. Firefly Music Festival (June 16-19 in Dover, DE)
This is the most well-known music festival on the East Coast. Everyone looks forward to it every summer. Held in The Woodlands, it has seven stages along the Dover International Speedway. Like Bonnaroo, it hosts outdoor camping for its attendees, which most people make use of. If you go, look forward to three crazy days of loud music, crowds, and the time of your life.
5. Lollapalooza (July 28-31 in Chicago, IL)
Another annual music festival like Governors Ball, but debuts outside of the US in South America and Europe as well. This year's is not one to miss. In celebration of its 25-year anniversary, the festival is now extended to four days rather than its normal three days. Tickets are all sold out, but you can probably find some through third-party vendors.
6. Outside Lands (August 5-7 in San Francisco, CA)
