One of my favorite books in the entire Bible is the book of Psalms. It is so REAL. It is raw emotion spilled onto pages, which I find so comforting. Many times we forget that sometimes on our path as Christians we are going to be lost. We are going to be lost and we are going to be scared, hurt, afraid, alone, angry, joyful, happy, and every other emotion out there that possibly exists. And that's why we need God.

So here are some of my favorite Psalms to comfort you and to lift you up on your journey with Christ:

1. "But may all who search for you be filled with joy and gladness in you. May those who love your salvation repeatedly shout, 'The Lord is great!'" -Psalm 40:16

2. "The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time." -Psalm 34:19

3. "May He grant your heart's desires and make all your plans succeed. May we shout for joy when we hear of your victory and raise a victory banner in the name of our God. May the Lord answer all your prayers." -Psalm 20:4-5

4. "I cried out, 'I am slipping!' but your unfailing love, O Lord, supported me. When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer." -Psalm 94:18-19

5. "Give your burdens to the Lord, and He will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall." -Psalm 56:22

6. "I love you, Lord; You are my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection." -Psalm 18:1-2

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. 16. To be prepared for anything.

17. That you don't always have to do it alone.

18. How to be creative.

19. To brush off gossip.

I have never been so thankful to know you.
