The older we get, the more daunting birthday's seem. I miss the days of princess themed birthday parties and moonwalks. The pressure to throw a sufficient birthday event as an adult is sometimes overwhelming and costly. Here are a few adult-friendly birthday ideas that won't break the bank:
Have Your Voice Heard: Become an Odyssey Creator
1. Karaoke Bar
Find a group of friends, order some good food and drinks, and unwind! Most karaoke bars run at about $35 an hour (and you never need more than two).
2. A sleepover
As a kid, sleepovers were one of my favorite birthday festivities and nothing has changed in that regard. Have a group of friends come over in their PJ's, pick up a movie or two, and get an array of junk food. This is easy, cheap, and relaxing!
3. Dinner
An excellent excuse to dress up, invite your friends out to a nice sit down dinner. Enjoy each other's company and indulge!
4. Roller Skating/Ice Skating
While this may seem juvenile, skating as an adult is even better than skating as a child. Roller rinks often have a pretty cheap entrance cost and will lower it depending on party size. One warning: beware of broken ankles and sprained wrists (trust me).
5. Dancing
Find a dance club in your town, dress up, and go let loose! Entrance fees order between $5-$10. Tell the bouncer it's your birthday and you may get a birthday surprise!
6. Shop!
