Everyone has fallen in love at least once, whether with a person, television show, or animal – you have fallen in love. Falling in love with another person is one of the most magical things that can happen.
It feels like you are falling, and you have no idea if the other person is willing to catch you. You worry that they aren’t going to catch you and you will hit the ground. But remember, if they catch you, you will be okay, maybe they will even fall too.
You hang on every word they say. What if they tell you they feel the same? You worry that they won’t. You get anxious to hear their voice, that is what you want the most. Phone calls seem too short even when they last for hours. Their words soak into your skin and you wait for a single clue that they are falling too.
You lose your breath at random times. You see their smile, that sparkle in their eyes, the tone of their voice. You just stop breathing. You don’t remember how to breathe or even what breathing is. Just that once you breathe in, your heart skips a beat.
Your stomach gets all fluttery and you feel like puking. They make you so nervous and you don’t know why. The puking part may not be cute, but, it is reality. Sometimes those butterflies in your stomach just won’t stop and they go from just a few to barely letting you breathe when you talk to them.
You have a big smile on your face when you find out they feel the same. You just smile like an idiot at random times in the day. You are just sitting in class when they say something like “You’re a Supernova” and it just brightens your whole day. You don’t care that you smile like an idiot, you don’t care what people think; you just do it!
You feel like you are floating. How is it possible that I can be falling but feel like floating? See, when you are falling together, it seems like you are floating because you know that you will catch each other. You make the fall the best thing so that it is the journey. The goal may be to fully fall in love, but remember it is the journey, not the destination. Make the best of falling together.
You realize that falling in love is a gamble after the first couple times. It could be a bust and you could be falling aimlessly just to face plant into the concrete, or you could end up with the love of your life, your soul mate. You could end up falling together or you could be falling apart. It is a gamble that people take all the time. It is just natural to take that gamble of falling in love.
