Every human knows that life comes with more challenges and set backs than you can shake a stick at. Every time you think you are getting ahead in life or in a good place, life finds some way to tear you down or put you back into the fight. That tear down can leave deep scars on your heart.

The loss of someone you love can form many levels of hurt. The loss of an acquaintance, a friend, a close friend, a lover, a family member- all hurt but each form different versions of deep scars.

We always question ourselves as human beings. What we could have done differently, the list of regrets, things we should have said or not said. One more family dinner, one more movie, one more Christmas morning, one more birthday celebration.

Those affected by loss are overcome with thoughts like these. But what they don't consider is the idea that they are in a better place now. They don't remember the happy memories they hold of their lost. They may at first think of those times but then the negative overcomes the positive.

Losing someone is a moment in life that no human is a virgin to. One rarely gets through life without experiencing some version of loss.

Loss changes your life; it can shape you, change the way you look at people in your life and the others that you love.

People always say "cherish the moments you have with the people you care about most- you never know when it will be your last." The truth of this matter is that you don't realize what you have until it's gone and that time is always limited.

Then you start thinking of all the moments you shared. Every night you stayed in with them and watched your favorite movies, brought over their favorite ice cream because they were upset, blasted the radio to your favorite songs together.

All of that seems so innocent at the time but once they're gone, you realize you took those innocent moments for granted.

Loss hits everyone differently with anger, guilt, regret, grief. They all come in waves- each hitting harder than the other. At first, the waves hit closely together. It's as if you're drowning. Every time you come up for a breath of air, another wave sweeps you off your feet and drags you under.

With time, the waves come further apart- but when the waves hit, they hit even harder than before. Between the waves, you begin to look around at the people you care about most. You realize how limited your time can be without even knowing it.

"You may be gone from my sight, but you are never gone from my heart."- Winnie The Pooh

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
