Every summer I see girls make the same mistake over and over again. They spend their entire summer pining for a guy that is not worth breath that they breathe. Every. Single. Summer. It's like a never ending cycle and to be honest, I'm over seeing it. I don't know where girls get in their mind that they have to find love in the summertime and if they don't, something must be wrong with them.

Why not spend the summer focusing on things that you love and bettering yourself. I love being at school with my friends but I always love coming home so I can focus on myself. If you're one of those people who have a hard time doing that then don't worry! I've come up with the perfect list of things you can do this summer to fully embrace your singleness and love every minute of it.

1. Get in shape.

2. Read new books.

3. Spend time with friends and family.

4. Go sight seeing in the city.

5. Road trip.

6. Take a vacation.

7. Take up a new hobby.

8. Take some summer classes.

9. Start a blog.

10. Learn how to cook.

11. Make a bucket list.

12. Drink lots of wine.

13. Catch up on your favorite shows.

14. Try new restaurants.

15. Get involved in something you're passionate about.

16. Go out a lot.

17. Throw a party.

18. Reinvent yourself.

19. Get a job.

19. Be a good wing woman.

20. Spend an entire day on the beach.

21. Volunteer.

22. Get yourself some flowers.

23. Buy yourself something expensive.

24. Get your finances in order.

25. Hit the bars.

26. ...Or the clubs if that's more your scene.

27. Train for a really really hard physical endurance test, like a marathon.

28. Go on many dates with many guys.

29. Netflix and chill by yourself or with your girlfriends.

30. Learn to appreciate yourself.

31. Face a fear that you have.

32. Keep a journal and write in it everyday this summer.

33. Create something new.

34. Catch up on some much needed sleep.

35. Treat yourself to a spa visit.

36. Do some yoga.

37. Visit a museum.

38. Organize a picnic.

39. Go to the pool.

40. Take a self-defense class.

41. Paint a lot of random sh*t.

42. Cut your hair.

43. Go to a few concerts.

44. Take long walks.

45. Have the ultimate ladies night.

46. Flirt shamelessly.

47. Do something crazy.

48. Go to church.

49. Allow yourself a day to do absolutely nothing.

50. Do whatever the hell you want because this summer is all about you!

Take this summer and make it about you. If a relationship just so happens to fall into this then so be it, but don't go actively searching for one. Yes it's wonderful to be in a healthy and happy relationship but it's also wonderful to be able to focus on being the best you! Remember, you have no one to consult with and no one to answer to. Make summer sixteen the best one yet and just do you!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
