50 Things I Have Said To My Roomie For Life
Gina Petruzzi

We all have the one person who makes us love school just a little bit more. We quite literally couldn't live without this person. I am not talking about any friends, but your roomie. Although you may not have been roommates since freshman year, this person is your roomie for life and you don't know how you will live without them. Since you are roomies for life, there is probably a million things you ask and say to them on the daily! Here are a few:

1) Do we have to get up and go to class?

2) Can I come cuddle?

3) You need to clean up your mess.

4) I couldn't live without you.

5) We need to have movie night.

6) You need to get up and shower.

7) Do I smell bad?

8) Can I borrow (insert clothing item here)?

9) Stop being lazy.

10) Let's go get dinner.

11) Let's go on an adventure.

12) Cheer up.

13) Did you do your homework?

14) Why are you starting your homework at 2am?

15) We should probably go to bed now.

16) When are you coming back?

17) Did you miss class?

18) Do you want to skip class?

19) Let's go get food.

20) Let's find something to do.

21) Want to do something fun?

22) I think it's time for a midnight snack.

23) We need to go to the gym.

24) Just snooze the alarm.

25) Can we share textbooks?

26) Are you crazy?

27) Why are we so crazy?

28) Thanks for being my best friend.

29) It's your turn to shut the light off tonight.

30) We need to clean.

31) We need to get our lives together.

32) Can you be my life coach?

33) You can do it!

34) Are you awake?

35) We should really get out of bed for class...

36) Is it acceptable to pick my jeans out of the wash and wear them dirty?

37) Do I look tired?

38) Do I look okay?

39) Can we go get ice cream?

40) Keep your head up.

41) Everything happens for a reason.

42) Whose idea was this?

43) Are you going to make your bed?

44) Want to go out tonight?

45) Can you turn the TV off?

46) Does this outfit match?

47) You're annoying sometimes.

48) Thank goodness we're friends.

49) You are totally stuck with me.

50) You're lucky I love you.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
