Through the good times and the bad, life is a crazy, beautiful adventure. While there are great days, there are also days that feel as if you are living in your biggest nightmare. Here’s some words of advice I feel everyone needs to hear to get through life.

1. Everything happens for a reason.

2. Not everyone is going to appreciate you as much as you appreciate them.

3. Failing that one test is not going to matter in 4 years.

4. God is always with you.

5. Not all people are going to be as nice as you are.

6. There is always a reason to smile.

7. Never try to be someone you are not.

8. It’s okay to cry every once and awhile.

9. Look at the positives in every situation.

10. Never give up.

11. Never settle for less than you deserve.

12. Treat others how you want to be treated.

13. Never expect anything, but strive for the best.

14. Pray about everything.

15. Don’t give into peer pressure.

16. Ice cream makes everything better.

17. It’s never too late to be a better you.

18. You are beautiful.

19. Laugh more.

20. Believe in yourself, even when you feel as if nobody believes in you.

21. Never take your family for granted.

22. Thank God for everything he has blessed you with.

23. You will regret the chances you didn’t take rather than the ones you did.

24. Don’t let others opinions stop you from living your dream.

25. Live for experiences.

26. Don’t stress yourself out about temporary things.

27. Never let an opportunity run past you.

28. Comparing yourself to others will only hurt you in the long run.

29. You can’t have a better today if you are still thinking about yesterday.

30. Never judge anyone, you don’t know what they may be going through.

31. Smile through the hard times.

32. Trust in God that everything will be okay.

33. Always give others a second chance, but never a third.

34. Have confidence in yourself.

35. Stay positive.

36. Don’t be afraid to tell someone how you feel.

37. Accept that not everyone is going to love you.

38. Don’t hate anything.

39. Never forget the importance of family and friends.

40. Take lots of pictures, but not too many.

41. Don’t get too attached to unnecessary things.

42. Meet as many people as possible.

43. Cherish every moment.

44. Take risks.

45. Don’t let anyone limit you to what you are capable of.

46. Compliment others.

47. Never lose your faith in God.

48. Appreciate the little things.

49. Love unconditionally.

50. Follow your heart.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
