College is a completely different world compared to high school. There's something that changes you as a person once you get that particular type of freedom. No matter who you are or how you change there are certain things that are important to remember no matter what. Here's a compilation of things to remember once you get to college.

1. You’re not always going to be the strongest, but that’s okay because you can be the toughest.

2. Forgive yourself for your mistakes. Forgive yourself, seriously.

3. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should. This goes with all life choices. Just because you can drink a whole bottle of vodka doesn’t mean you should. Just because you can wait and write three papers in one night doesn’t mean you should.

4. If you choose to go in drag, don’t sell yourself short. Work that bun girl. You’re fabulous.

5. Fake it till you make it. Live by this motto!

6. If a guy tries to have sex with you before he takes you on a date, then he isn’t a good guy. There is no way of justifying this… I repeat, he is not a good guy.

7. There may not be many healthy choices on campus, but they are there. I myself would much rather have a Chik-fil-A sandwich, but sometimes you just gotta opt for that chicken cool wrap.

8. Pulling all-nighters were fun in high school. In college they are no longer fun. These only take place in a state of emergency.

9. Find the internship. Take the internship. It will change your life. Whether it helps you figure out what you want to do in life or shows you what you don’t want to do, it will mean a lot to you in the long run.

10. Nobody meets their husband or wife on Tinder. That’s all I’m saying.

11. Respect is earned, not just given away. If you want somebody to respect you, then you need to earn it. Likewise with yourself. You shouldn’t feel obligated to respect somebody that doesn’t show you respect.

12. Sometimes the person that ends up meaning the absolute most to you is that one guy you met freshmen year that has always stuck around and genuinely cares for you. He might end up being your fraternity twin, and that can be pretty cool.

13. Don’t dumb it down, seriously. In high school it might have been cute to be the ditzy girl, but in college it isn’t. You’re smart, so act like it.

14. If a guy begins texting you and its past 11:30 p.m., then he does not like you for your personality.

15. Never, I repeat never, allow yourself to be a second choice. You are not a second choice type of person, and you absolutely do not deserve to be treated that way. If you even think for a second that you could possibly be a second choice, then you need to leave the situation.

16. Whenever you have the chance to contribute to somebody else’s success, then you should do so. Help where you can, because somebody is going to come along and help you out one day.

17. It is okay to drink four nights out of the week. You’re not an alcoholic, I promise. It’s just a really good weekend for you.

18. If you have a month straight of “really good weekends,” then you’re possibly an alcoholic. Just kidding, but genuinely that’s not healthy and you should look into this.

19. My mom has always told me that if you aren’t early, then you’re late. This has always stuck with me, and this is extremely beneficial for going into the real world.

20. If you have ever thought about going through recruitment, do it. Just try it out. You don’t have to commit to anything. Give Greek life a chance. You might find a new home.

21. Go to class. I cannot stress this enough. Go to class. If you want to be successful, then go to class.

22. If your friends don’t like the guy, that’s a probably a sign that he’s not a good guy.

23. If the guy’s fraternity brothers do not like the guy, abort mission: he’s probably not a good guy.

24. If your mom doesn’t like the guy, then he’s definitely not a good guy.

25. However, regardless of what everybody else thinks, it’s your decision. Do what you want.

26. Leggings and t-shirts will become a part of your lifestyle. Of all the lifestyle choices, this is by far the best choice.

27. Don’t make a scene. Do not be this girl. Cuss him out at your house, not in the bar.

28. When entrusted with a secret, keep it.

29. It is never too late for an apology. Even if it has been a year. It will mean the world to somebody to hear an apology.

30. Sympathy is a crutch. Never fake anything.

31. Give credit and take blame. People will respect you so much more in the long run.

32. Suck it up every now and again. If you are not the type of person who knows how to do this, then find a friend that is really good at telling you this. Sometimes sucking it up is the best way to fix things.

33. Stand up to bullies. You’ll only have to do it once. There is no better feeling than standing up for somebody else.

34. Admit when you’re wrong. This is easily one of the hardest things to do. Seriously, I get it, but it will make you stronger in the long run.

35. Don’t boo, ever. Even if you’re playing your rival team. Even the ref is somebody's son. Good sportsmanship can tell a lot about a person.

36. If you don’t understand something, ask before it’s too late. This isn’t high school. Nobody is going to laugh at you or think anything less of you because you didn’t understand the physics problem the first time. Somebody else is probably applauding you in the back because they didn’t get it either.

37. Be a good listener. Listening to somebody and waiting for your turn to talk are two completely different things.

38. You are what you do, not what you say.

39. Keep your word. Don’t say you’ll do something and then bail out.

40. Be kind. Everyone has a tough fight ahead of them. You don’t know what somebody is going through, so give people some slack.

41. Make the little things count. Your life will have so much more meaning, and you will be so much happier in the long run. Think about this and find a way to apply it to your life.

42. You’re never too old to need your mom. If your mom is anything like mine, then she’s perfect in every way and deserves to be appreciated.

43. There is a fine line between slutty and sultry, so find it. You might think you look cute in lingerie and bunny ears, but there are so many better costumes. You’ve got a lot to offer the world, so show it in the way you dress.

44. If you have to fight, like absolutely have to fight, punch first and punch hard.

45. Your dance moves may not be the best, but I promise that making a fool of yourself is more fun than sitting on the bench alone.

46. An hour spent with grandparents is an hour well spent. Ask for advice when you need it. You don’t have to necessarily take it, but it will mean so much to them in the long run.

47. Smile at strangers. You never know whose day you could make. It might be the only smile somebody sees all day.

48. Ladies, if you make the decision to wear heels on the first date, commit to them. Do not take them off and make your date hold them. P.S. if you cannot walk in heels, don’t wear them. Nobody gives a shit if you wear flats, but they do give a shit if you’re look like a baby deer fresh out of the womb.

49. Make goals. Seriously, don’t sell yourself short. Have a plan.

50. Life goes on.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
