Don't get me wrong, I love a good PSL, but there are approximately 10,000 other reasons to love fall, and every year I look forward to the day when I walk outside and the leaves are changing, and it's 50 degrees. It's a like taking a big breath of fresh, crisp air.
1. Sweater Weather- Sweaters are one of the best things this world has to offer. I rejoice every September when the heat wave finally ends, and I am free to throw on a comfy knit. Sweaters have provided me with some of the coziest and happiest days of my entire life, purely due to their existence on my body. Who doesn't want to feel like they're wearing a comfy blanket all day?
2. The Leaves- There's nothing like going outside or looking out the window and seeing a beautiful array of colors forming on the trees. From the burnt oranges to the honey yellows, and everything in between, they create a picture perfect view that can't be compared to much. Though they don't stay long, I always feel lucky that I got to experience the leaves in their prime for the short time they were here.
3. CANDLES- There's something about going to Bath & Body Works during the autumn months that just makes me feel alive. Those candles have the power to transform a home into a bakery, a fall campfire, a pumpkin patch, and more glorious autumnal places- name a fall scent, and B&BW probably has it. Even if you don't buy any, you know you've walked into the store just to sniff them before. And if you haven't, I think you're lying.
4. Those Dark Makeup Looks- My fair skin limits me with this one, but I do the best I can. After a summer of light pink lips and white nail polish, there's something liberating about going for a dark lipstick and a burgundy manicure. I'll admit that I (im)patiently wait for this time to come all summer long.
5. Halloween- Halloween is one of the best holidays, without a doubt. I could write a whole new article about Halloween and everything that comes with it. From costumes to pumpkin carving to candy, what's not to love? It's also the only time of year that it becomes socially acceptable to decorate your yard like a haunted house, and I honestly can't think of another holiday that makes decorating so fun.
So there you have it- five wonderful things about fall that aren't a PSL. However, I would highly encourage engaging in all of these activities whilst drinking a PSL. They're just so good.
