Everyone should know that they should be able to put themselves first. A lot of people stretch themselves thin trying to help everyone but themselves. Sometimes you just need to dedicate a day to bettering yourself and treating yourself so here are some ways you can treat yourself this weekend.

1. Go to Lush

Lush is one of my all-time favorite stores and I love going there when I decide to treat myself. Lush has everything you could need for the perfect weekend and the items are totally worth the price. All of their items are natural, organic, cruelty-free, and the containers are reusable. The workers at Lush are almost always the nicest and will help you find the perfect product for you.

2. Make your bed in the morning

You could have a totally terrible day where everything went wrong but you will still feel a little good about yourself because you made your bed in the morning. It sounds totally stupid but it works. Making my bed in the morning helps me feel better about myself and happier when I go to bed with an already made bed.

3. Stay up to date with the news

The news can be very sad and depressing sometimes but there are also so many amazing stories to read. I think it is amazing to stay up to date with the news so that you can always know what is going on. It doesn't take long to watch it on the bus or while you brush your teeth in the morning. One of my favorites is to watch Snapchat's Stay Tuned videos.

4. Relax!

Throw on your favorite pajamas, some fuzzy socks, pull your hair back, and light a few candles to wind down for the night. Do what relaxes you the most like taking a bubble bath, doing face masks, or put on your favorite tunes to wind down for the night.

5. Do Some Yoga

This sounds super cliche but yoga can really help relax you search some youtube videos of simple yoga techniques and take some time to try them? You can also try meditating or even just take a few minutes to stretch. It can really improve your day and benefit your body.

I think that if you're having a bad week, day, or just want to treat yourself I really think these tips will help you figure out what you need to be good to yourself. Everyone needs to think about themselves sometimes no matter how often you put others first so appreciate yourself and treat yourself every once in a while. Not only is it fun but it's also beneficial to your mental health.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
