5 Ways To Stay Healthy During The Summer
Prevention

We all usually think of the summertime as a vacation, but if we're on vacation, does that mean our health is too? Absolutely not! Staying healthy and fit during the summer is completely possible, but you have to be willing to put the work in.

I know you can do it, so here are 5 simple ways to stay healthy during the summer!

1. Buy a planner

Most people think of buying planners for school but buying a planner will help you figure out what days and times you can work out. The schedule will also help you not completely overload yourself. You'll be able to plan times for "you time" as well. If you're working at your job all day or attending summer classes, finding a time to workout all while trying to eat healthily is overwhelming and sometimes, it seems impossible. That's where the planner comes in handy so you can plan out your time!

2. Set goals for yourself

In order to stay healthy, you should be setting daily and monthly goals for your fitness journey. For example, a daily goal could be waking up early and having a 30-minute workout, while a monthly goal could be simply cutting out sugar for an entire month or setting a weight loss goal. Don't make these goals completely unattainable because if you can't reach them, your confidence will be affected and it will cause you to not be on track. Keeping a positive mindset is key!

3. Wake up early

Waking up early and being able to take your time making a breakfast, which will help keep you fuller longer, and possibly even fitting a workout in before work or summer classes or whatever you're doing that day will help you feel more accomplished and on track with your goals. Yes, its really hard not to sleep in, but trust me you will feel so much better throughout the day!

4. Have a clear, healthy grocery list before shopping

In the summer we all like to have fun and adventure out of our comfort zone and that sometimes involves eating junk food or trying new, unhealthy foods. While eating unhealthy once in a while is not bad, yes cheat days are real things, if you continue the unhealthy eating, you won't crush your goals. That's why planning out meals and specific ingredients are crucial! Pinterest can be your best friend on finding healthy, new, and exciting recipes.

5. Use the outdoors and warm weather to your advantage!

Doing a workout outdoors is fun and completely plausible! You can go on a run or walk, or even just do your normal at-home workout outside! That way, you don't feel like you're missing out on the beautiful weather during the summer and you're getting your sweat on in the hot sun!

Trust me, working out during the summer is fun! We have to stay on top of our healthy and keeping a healthy lifestyle, so try these 5 tips! I promise you won't regret it.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
