2015 has already proven to be a big year for movies, with films like Age of Ultron, Mad Max: Fury Road, Jurassic World, Inside Out, Furious 7, Trainwreck, and Pitch Perfect 2 captivating audiences and critics alike, all the while taking in huge amounts of money at the box office. While 2015 has flown by, there are still tons of amazing sequels, reboots and sure-fire hits to be released. So here it is, five upcoming movies that you have to see before the year is out.
1. Black Mass -- Directed by Scott Cooper, Black Mass details the true story of Irish-American mobster Whitey Bulger (Johnny Depp), an FBI informant and one of the most violent mobsters in Boston history. With an all-star cast featuring Johnny Depp, Kevin Bacon, Benedict Cumberbatch, Joel Edgerton, Sienna Miller and Dakota Johnson, this film is sure to feature edge-of-your-seat tension, gruesome violence and a pleasantly dramatic turn from Johnny Depp. The film will open in theaters on September 18.
2. James Bond: SPECTRE -- The sequel to the most recent James Bond hit Skyfall, SPECTRE sees Bond (Daniel Craig) come face to face with the evil terrorist organization S.P.E.C.T.R.E. in what is sure to be one of the best action movies of 2015. With a supporting cast of Léa Seydoux, Ralph Fiennes, Monica Bellucci and Christoph Waltz as the villainous Franz Oberhauser, SPECTRE promises to be another exciting entry in the James Bond franchise. SPECTRE opens November 6.
3. The Good Dinosaur -- What if the dinosaurs never went extinct? Pixar answers this question with their next feature film The Good Dinosaur, as a young apatosaurus named Arlo (Raymond Ochoa) tries to find his way back home with the help of a small human boy named Spot. With supporting voices from Jeffrey Wright, Frances McDormand and Sam Elliott, The Good Dinosaur will no doubt feature Pixar's patented blend of stunning animation, humor for all ages and emotionally resonant storytelling. The Good Dinosaur opens November 25.
4. Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens -- Easily the most anticipated film of 2015, The Force Awakens follows Finn (John Boyega), Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Poe Dameron (Oscar Issac) as they attempt to save the galaxy from a new evil and prevent it from plunging into darkness. Featuring Adam Driver as an evil Sith warrior, motion capture master Andy Serkis and Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill returning as Han Solo, Leia Organa and Luke Skywalker, respectively, The Force Awakens will mark a return to form for the Star Wars franchise. The film opens December 18 worldwide.
5. The Hateful Eight -- From cinematic mastermind Quentin Tarantino comes The Hateful Eight, which sees eight westerners stuck in a stagecoach stopover during a blizzard. With a fantastically varied cast including Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Walton Goggins, Demián Bichir, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen and Bruce Dern, The Hateful Eight will surely combine dark humor, over-the-top gore, and character-driven drama into a Tarantino film for the ages. The film opens worldwide on Christmas Day.
