It seems like everyone and anyone is listening to music at any given time. There are memes about the big affront it is to try to talk to someone who is wearing headphones, obviously bopping along to whatever is playing in their ears. I, myself, am listening to music as I type this article! Music is all around us, playing in the background of our lives, so it would only make sense to separate these songs into playlists that perfectly fit to any situation. Whether you use Spotify, SoundCloud, iTunes or Pandora, these playlist ideas are sure to strike a positive note!
1. Workout playlist
What compliments a run better than the perfect thudding base that booms in time with your falling steps? Absolutely nothing. Ironically, some of the best sources for tunes to help you work up a sweat are movie scores and classical orchestra pieces. Whether you're running to catch that "beach bod" or to save the city, hit play and off you go!
2. Study playlist
Sometimes the library is just too quiet, you know? I want to be able to hear myself think, but I don't want to hear you tapping your pencil or snapping your gum. This is where my study playlist comes in handy! Filled to the brim with instrumental orchestra covers of pop songs and slow ballads I can hum to, it helps me power through that essay I may or may not have procrastinated until the last minute..
3. Shower playlist
OK, if you say you don't sing in the shower, you're a liar! Kidding, but really - who doesn't love to belt out those notes only goddesses like Beyoncé and Mariah Carey could possibly hit correctly? Not your speed? How about "High School Musical"? Spice Girls? Whatever your poison, sing your heart out!
4. Sad playlist
The best way to get through your emotions are to feel them and let them pass. Listening to sad ballads and somber voices can definitely help speed-up this process. John Legend, Adele, Christina Aguleria, thank you for your help. Grad the tissues, friend. It's going to be a long night.
5. Angry playlist
When I get angry, I just want to smash things like the Hulk. This isn't always the best route for my frustration. Instead, I listen to fast-paced EDM music to get my heart racing and burn through all of that adrenaline I've got pumping. Trust me, it's better than explaining to your mother why her favorite vase is sitting in shards on the kitchen floor.
Breathe. Press play. It's going to be alright, friend.
