Around this time of year, students everywhere begin slacking off and losing perspective as the school year slowly comes to an end, yet the workload seems to be at its peak. So, here are a few tips to surviving and being productive.
1. Healthy snacks
For all those stress eaters out there, like me, stock your mini-fridge with fresh fruit, if possible, and shelves with granola bars. Sorry, but skip the Doritos and Oreos even though they're extremely tempting.
2. Switch up your study scene
Leave the comfort of the library and go to a coffee shop or since spring is a nice time to be outside, sit on a blanket and read those 80 pages due Monday.
3. Put away social media
Study in 50-60 minute intervals and reward yourself with the occasional social media/internet break, but know, it's hard to get back to work, regardless.
4. Exercise
This time of year is stressful, but also exciting. So, to blow off steam, going to the gym, bike ride, or walk around either solo or with a friend is a great outlet for stress and whatever else is going on.
5. Take a warm shower and go to bed early
Yes, it's hard to allot time for yourself when you have five papers, three projects and seven exams in the course of a week, but to do your best, sleep. You've earned it and, more importantly, you need it.
