5 Times You Fell In Love With Your Sorority

If you are part of a sorority, you know how much love you feel toward not only your sisters but to your letters. Everyone has different experiences of why they fell in love with the sorority they are a part of. There are also certain activities that make you re-fall in love with your sorority every time they occur. It's safe to say that the following things make you love, obsess, and care about your organization more and more.

1. Recruitment

Every school handles recruitment a little bit differently. Whether it was an informal or formal setting, this is where you originally fell in love with your sorority. You felt the love from people you did not know, learned about their values, and activities they put on in the sorority house you entered and you knew it was where you belonged. You found your home away from home. So, every time recruitment season comes back around you fall back in love with the chaos that caught your attention from the start.

2. Philanthropy Events

Every Greek organization has a philanthropy that they support. Most Greeks are extremely passionate about their organizations' philanthropy. Not only are you supporting an amazing cause but you are doing it in a fun way. It is so rewarding to put on philanthropy events and raise money for something you feel so strongly about. Knowing your hard work is paying off (no pun intended) and helping others is many people's favorite part of being in a sorority. Every time there is a super successful philanthropy event, your passion and love for your letters grow.

3. Big/Little Reveal

Big Little reveal is one of the most exciting times during a new members experience. It is just as exciting for initiated sisters as well. Whether you are getting a Little, Twin, GrandLittle, or not adding to your family line at all, it is a wonderful, heartwarming experience. The look on both the Little and the Big's faces is always priceless and you can feel the love in the room even if they do not know each other that well. Family is what makes something really feel like a home and that is just one reason why your love grows every Big Little season.

4. Sisterhood Retreat

Each semester, sisterhood retreat is a little bit different. The premise is always the same.; it is reuniting your organization as a whole. It can be so hard to get everyone together in one room. At sisterhood retreat, you have your sisters all in one place all doing fun activities that result in closer bonds. The reason we all joined Greek like is to feel that sense of sisterhood and there is no time where it is more present. Once you become a senior, you feel so much love for your organization and your sisters because of all of these retreats.

5. Ritual

Some people love ritual, others tolerate it. However, ritual is one of the things that keeps our organizations so unique. Your sororities values are usually tied to these types of activities which is a good reminder of why you joined the one your in. It is so cool to have things that only your organization does. Moreover, it's exciting to know that every chapter of your sorority, at least, has something in common with each other, other than your shared letters. Knowing these things makes you feel anchored to your sorority.

Every girl in a sorority has other experiences that make them fall in love with their organization over and over again. These are just a few of the common ones. Being in a sorority is something hard to explain to someone from the outside looking in, but this might allow some insight. Keep calm and love your sorority.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
