Many people who know me know that I love me some Vineyard Vines. Shirts, belts, Shep Shirts, shorts, flip flops, stickers, etc you name it and I probably am dreaming about buying it someday. It is not just that little pink whale logo that I love it is the modesty and quality of the clothes. So when I finally get a chance to go to my local Vineyard Vines I am truly in heaven. Below are some thoughts my fellow VV addicts and I have whenever we enter a store.
1. Why can't I be rich?!
I will admit this store is overpriced. Whether it is because it originated on the Cape and attracted yacht and country club people or whether it is because the quality is top notch this store can be very pricey if you don't find good deals or an outlet. Outlets are always cheaper than retailers and they always have good clearance racks and sales. And when the time comes for Whale of A Sale online, most VV addicts feel like jumping for joy. We Vineyard Vines shoppers contemplate robbing a bank to satisfy our long lists of desires in Vineyard Vines. Just kidding. But when the day comes that you know that there is an online sale you wake up extra early to get prepared. After all, most of us are on a college budget.
2. Do you think people will notice if I buy pullovers from the men's' section?
Anyone who shops at Vineyard Vines knows that when pullovers are on the clearance rack for under 40$ you must take advantage even if it is men's pullover. I always ask myself "will anyone notice that I am wearing a guy's pullover" but I always ending up getting it and never regretting my decisions. No one has ever noticed and I even have gotten a pink men's pullover to compensate. Anyways the waist on the shirt and the shoulders are more comfortable than the tight women's ones. There is no visual difference between the two genders and so while I question myself I always end up getting my discounted pullover.
3. How many Shep Shirts are too many?
I'll confess I am obsessed with Shep Shirts. They are my favorite item from Vineyard Vines. They are warm, comfortable, and can be dressed up or down. But they are also expensive so that hinders how many i purchase. When I gaze at the shep shirt display I wonder if I need another patterned shep shirt and I always conclude I do. My bank account always hates me after but I keep telling myself this was the last one. Even though I knows it is not. When they go on sale it is like Christmas and your birthday in one day.
4. *Sees Day boat shorts* dreams of every outfit you would wear with them
When I am not scouring the store for shep shirts I am usually trying to find day boat shorts. I don't care if its freezing or boiling hot out, if I find a deal on pastel shorts I will take advantage. They are better than any other types of shorts because they never fade from washing and wearing them so much, they don't ride up, and they are modest and appropriate. Lilac, light pink, pale yellow you name it and I have probably thought about what outfit and color goes best with them. During the summer I only wear Day boat shorts and Nike Tempo shorts and so when there is a buy 1 get 1 deal I spend two hours contemplating what two colors I want next. Who can have two many shorts?
5. How will this look with my Sperry's or Jack Rogers?
My next two biggest addictions after Vineyard Vines are Sperrys and jack rogers. Whenever I am trying on a shirt or shorts in Vineyard Vines I automatically think what Sperrys or Jacks would match what I am buying. Its second nature by now. My brain has been well trained.
So here is too all my fellow Vineyard Vines addicts. Keep breaking the banks for that little pink whale, I am sure Shep and Ian appreciate it.
