There are definitely certain things that you will always miss about home. Here are the 5 things that will excited you the most to see while coming back home:

1. Your Friends

Although this may seem obvious, you’re gonna miss your friends from home more than you think. Although it may be nice to be in an unfamiliar, new scene, you will miss those who make you most comfortable, and the ones you can talk to anything about with. Coming home to them is like a breath of fresh air that you lacked in college.

2. Your Parents

This one surprised me the most, regardless of what everyone says. Regardless of the relationship that you go into college with, the relationship between your parents and you will change drastically once you leave the nest. You will call your parents to help with anything, or even to just chat and catch up. Coming home to them is pure comfort.

3. Your Dog/ Pet

The lack of animals on a college campus will get to you. The absence of your best furry friend will take a toll on you, and the moment you get home, they’re the first thing you go to see.

4. Good Food

Regardless of what anyone says, the food situation in college is always less than ideal. There are many more options while at home, and they are much easier to get to. You spend more money to get less quality food while at college, and you regret that Dominos pizza you ordered to you while you won’t regret that acai bowl at home.

5. Your Car

The convenience of having a car is something you take for granted until you leave for college. While it’s easy to just hop in your car and grab whatever you need from the store while at home, there is convenient way to get the things you need without this mode of transportation. Having a car while home makes everything just purely easier.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
