Being from Ohio, you learn a ton of things about your state that not many people from other places will understand. But here I am to break it down for the standard non-Ohioan. We take the crap of the crop, and we still keep cheering. Who else does that except for us? Not many. You'll probably see a bunch of cows and farms along the highway as you're going to the Cavalier's game, which is in the busiest part of downtown Cleveland.

1. There's always someone ready to finish O-H for you.

Ohio State is our pure treasure -- our pride and joy. We absolutely love our team and whenever they're playing, we're always willing to root for them in the best way. If there's a group of four people at a monument and they're from Ohio, you better believe that they're pulling out the old fashioned O-H-I-O.

2. Cincinnati Chili is everything.

I have to admit, I hadn't had it before a few years ago, but let me tell you how absolutely amazing this is. You'd never think that chili over noodles and topped off with shredded cheese would be absolutely delicious, but it truly is. Just thinking about it is making me crave it.

3. Don't get me started on our sports teams.

We love them but we also hate them. Like, really really hate them. Our famous slogan every year is "Hey, better luck next year." We watch every single Brown's game and we're angered by every single game that they lose in, but we already know that we'll watch them next week. And if another team says that they're better than ours, we may know it's true but we'll still defeat them to the death.

4. We have our highs, lows, and loop-de-loops.

Probably the best part about Ohio! Cedar Point is something that we all know and love -- and it's the best amusement park in the world. And it's only a short drive away. Most of us go every year in the summer and during Halloweekends, too. We'd be nothing without going to Cedar Points during the summers.

5. We've all had buckeyes on time or another.

Peanut butter and chocolate have never tasted sweeter together. Move aside, Reese's! Whether you've had buckeyes homemade or bought in a store, we all know that it's amazing to eat as a quick treat with the friends and family.

Trust me when I say that Ohio is not as bad as it may seem. Sure, we had a river catch on fire once (or a few times), but we still love our home state and will always represent it for as long as we live. Go, Bucks!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
