I am so sick of hearing and experiencing how women are treated. We are treated like we have no brains, and we have no ideas. We are treated like emotional and hormonal wrecks. We are treated like we aren't equal in and out of the workplace. If a woman is sexually assaulted she will be blamed. They will comment on her clothes, or comment on the fact that she had a couple of drinks. No one will listen to their story. None of that is right. All women are equal in so many ways. We are even more than equal. We can carry children and get right back to work. We can start fights and end them without a single hand raised. We deserve better treatment. I am a beautiful and smart woman. I have astounding thoughts and amazing ideas. I have the attitude of a queen, and I am not afraid to share what is on my mind.

1. Women are not a phone number to fight for

A woman's phone number is not a victory. Just because you have a new number to text at night doesn't mean you are more masculine, or a better man.

2. Women are not a picture to show you friends

We understand that we are beautiful. Showing others a picture of us like your latest catch is just stupid. We aren't a deer shot down in the woods. We are people, just like you.

3. Women are not a score between 1 and 10

If we wanted to be graded on our appearance we would ask. We don't need your sarcastic remarks and below average numbers to know our worth.

4. Women are not something to brag about

When you huddle together to brag about the latest girl you like it makes you look stupid. It makes it look like you value women as objects, and not as people. Women are definitely people, and if you can't see that you might need some help.

5. Women are not your servants

We are probably doing something else like raising children or furthering our careers. We don't have time to do every single thing for you. If we can figure it out on our own, you can too.

Women can be the strongest, despite what people think. We can do anything we set out minds to. We don't live to please others. We live to please ourselves. We live to choose the life we want for ourself. We are strong and independent. We are not pictures or numbers, and we are certainly not your ego boosters.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
