As various names move across the T.V. screen, I am numb.
"Wow, that was amazing." my best friend smiles, laying back on her chestnut suede couch. She and her two sisters drift off into conversation about re-clarifying characters and plot lines. I do not join in.
I am numb and there is only one statement left in my mind. What do I do now?
"Game of Thrones" is one of the most praised and acclaimed novel and T.V. series of all time, garnering fans of all ages, genders, and states of minds. Including this one right here.
The season six finale, "Winds of Winter", broke the record for largest television audience with a staggering 8 million watchers. A well deserved win.
As fans wait with bated breath for season 7 to emerge, the question of "What to do in the mean time?" filters across.
Well have no fear, I have some ideas for all my watchers waiting in the limbo of no new episodes.
SPOILERS AHEAD! I CANNOT MAKE WITTY JOKES WITHOUT REVEALING SOME OF THE PLOT. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
1. Re-watch all the past "Game of Thrones" seasons.
Now, I know that this may seem a huge leap. Some of you are thinking, "That's just crazy! How can I watch five seasons in a day?" Trust me. You can, believe and you will achieve. Just crack open a bottle of your finest Dornish Red wine and soon you'll be laughing mid-Joffrey choke in the Purple Wedding.
2. Read or Re-read all of the "A Song of Ice and Fire" Series.
...Now look. Each book may contain over some odd-1000 pages of point of view switching and tiny font, BUT! Martin's series did inspire the Emmy winning television show with all our favorite new actors! The books are a great read! And while no t.v. series is perfect, (Game of Thrones is so close though) sacrifices did have to be made in order to broadcast it on the silver screen. Characters we've never seen are including, some characters may be still alive, and some different plot lines are shown! (Sansa's plot line in the book is so much better.....compared to the show. Just why'd it have to be Ramsay?!?!)
3. Cry.
There's nothing much to it, actually. Season 7 is coming out later as well so, think about that too. Plus George needs it too.
4. Try and understand how Varys traveled so fast in the finale.
I mean seriously. What was that? Then it calls in to account...You know. Just try it. It will be January 2017 before you know it.
5. Wait it out.
All will be well and we shall soon see a brighter day.
...So yeah. Keep these thoughts in mind over the up and coming Fall and Winter seasons (WINTER IS HERE) and we will all power through it together. #AYearWithoutGOT
I love you, HBO.
