1. Attend a concert.
The Tuscaloosa Amphitheater is a great place to see a concert. There is not a bad seat in the venue, and with a great alcohol selection, the night cannot go wrong. Rod Stewart will be playing on July 16, and after the concert, Moe’s or Innisfree is not too far away. Sounds like a great night, if you ask me.
2. Go to the Farmer's Market.
Every Saturday from 7 a.m. to 12 noon, the Tuscaloosa farmer's market is wonderful place to attend every Saturday. With a great selection of locally grown fruits, vegetables, and flowers, the farmer's market should become your go-to spot for your weekly grocery shopping. Located on the Riverfront, the market is also directly next to Another Broken Egg, so you can get mimosas and groceries in the same location. Sounds like a win-win to me.
3. Lake Tuscaloosa.
Lake Tuscaloosa might be the best hidden gem in TTown. A good day at the lake should involve burgers, booze, and a boat. Even heading to the cliffs should also be on your to-do list. Boat rentals are readily available on the lake. Also, find someone who is a member at North River Yacht Club. Trust me, you won’t regret it.
4. Wine tasting.
Every Thursday and Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., Carpevino in downtown Tuscaloosa offers wine tasting for $10. Wine tasting is a great way to expand your knowledge of alcohol, plus, you can look and sound more sophisticated at the next party you attend. Carpevino also allows you to bring your own food, so for $10 not only can you impress someone with your wine knowledge, you could bring McDonald's, as well. This seems to be the best example of bang for your buck.
5. Get pumped for Alabama football.
As of July 4, Alabama football is only 62 days away. What's better than spending the entire month preparing for the Wisconsin game? My suggestion is watch every game from last year expect for Auburn, watch that twice. Then, watch the SEC Championship game from 2012 to get excited for the Tide’s upcoming visit to Athens.
Or, you could watch this video on repeat for the next 62 days. Time well spent. Roll Tide!
