For the next three weeks, the stress that college students have cannot be measured. Projects, papers, exams- at this instant it all seems endless. Below are just a few things that are giving me motivation as my first semester of college is coming to a close.
1. No Work
Just think- right when you put down that pencil after your last exam, all work for an entire month is finished. No need to stress about a massive exam or a random assignment anymore- those are all done.
2. Bed
I remember when I went home over winter break and I felt as if I was sleeping on a cloud. Never did I realize how much I would actually miss my bed, especially during finals. No need to sleep in that tiny little bed in your dorm room anymore, for your lifeless bed awaits your presence at home.
3. Vacation
Perhaps you are going on vacation with your family or friends, or maybe you are working over winter break. Regardless, you will not be on campus. Even though we love our schools, the campus lifestyle can get quite repetitive as the days progress. Look forward to being in a different environment with familiar faces.
4. Friends From Back Home
How can I forget this one? I love my friends back home- they provide me with strength to survive the next three weeks. I am already thinking about the first night we are all together once again- sitting in someone’s basement with chimes of “High School Musical” playing in the background.
5. Home Cooked Food
Most importantly, look forward to those home cooked meals. When coming to college, we never realize how crucial this truly is. Dining hall food is nothing in comparison to chicken cutlets topped with parmesan cheese, breaded cauliflower, and penne vodka.
