As the end of spring semester approaches as does summer. I know personally the idea of summer can be daunting sometimes, but here are some of my favorite things to do and which I highly recommend doing as well.
1. Spend time with the family
They’ve missed you and haven’t really been able to talk to you since school started. Choosing to be spend time with the family makes them feel valued. Which they should be. Family is one of the strongest bonds we have with one another, so pack a picnic and go out on a road trip, you and your family will truly enjoy it. Or stay in and have a movie night with them like you did when you were younger and if you didn’t, it's never too late to start some great family traditions.
2. Read a book
School is finally done and you are free to do whatever you like. Personally, I love taking the summer break as a way to catch up on some fun reading. There have been many days where I have spent most of my time on the couch reading books. I find a great sense of comfort in being able to sit down and get to know and understand the way others think.
3. Catch up with old friends
Summer time is one of the most important times to me, because it is a time where I can go back to my hometown and catch up with some of my best friends. This break is a great time for all of you to catch up and go out and have fun adventures together like before.
4. Focus on yourself
Take these months off as a time of self-reflection. To look at who you’ve become and see if you truly like that person or you feel you’ve regressed into someone that everyone wants you to be. Summer time is a great time to figure out the things you truly like and don’t like because you no longer have that unintentional pressure from your friends to like a certain thing.
5. Make at least one major plan
If all else fails, make at least one major plan to hang out with your group of friends during the summer, so you have something to look forward to. I know my friends and I are already looking forward to some exciting concerts and road trips together this summer.
