5 Things to do Everyday

Life can get so busy and hectic that people often forget the little things that they should be doing each and every day. Here are five things that people should take the time to do every day.

1. Tell People you Love Them

Life is too short to hold grudges and waste time being mad at people. With that being said, it is important to let the important people in your life know that you love them. No one should have to spend a single day of their life not knowing whether or not they are loved. There should not be a single day in your life that slips by without telling people that you love them because you never know what could happen. The next time you tell someone that you love them could be the last time, so make it count, and don't live a day regretting something something you didn't say.

2. Take Time for Yourself

The most important person in your life is you. It is important to care about yourself and take time for yourself more than anyone else in your life. Some people get so wrapped up in trying to care for others and be there for others that they forget to take time for themselves. It is extremely important to remember to take time for yourself and to take care of yourself because if you can't take care of yourself, then you can't take care of others.

3. Smile

It is easy to get upset by the little things in life. Most of the things that upset us now will not matter later on down the road. If we waste time being upset and not finding happiness in life, then we will never be happy. It is important to enjoy life each day and be happy in order to get the most out of life. Life is too short to not be happy and grateful each and every day.

4. Do Something for a Stranger

Many people tend to only focus on their friends and the people that matter to them in their own lives. It is common for people to forget strangers and the people that we are not close to. However, strangers are sometimes the most important people in the lives of others. You never know the impact you can have on a stranger. Simple gestures go a long way, and by doing something to impact a stranger's life to make it better could impact your own life as well.

5. Take a Chance

As cliche as it may sound, life is short. It is important to take chances and make the most out of each and every day. Do something that you would not normally do, take a chance, You don't want to spend your life regretting the chances you didn't take. You never know, you might learn something. Step outside your comfort zone each and every day because the only thing you should regret is the chances you didn't take. As Scott Spencer said, “The only things I regret, and the only things I'll ever regret are things I didn't do. In the end, that's what we mourn. The paths we didn't take. The people we didn't touch.”

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
