Shows are meant to catch people's attention, some just do it better then others. Not every one is appealed to the same kind of entertainment, for the reason being, there are all kind of shows out there for everyone's own liking. Once you have found that show though, there is nothing else that can compare. This show becomes your favorite thing to watch and you become a fan. Some fans are more subtle, while others are more intense fans. Undoubtedly, I have easily become a crazy fan but I am perfectly fine with that. For me, my "go to" show is hands down "Game of Thrones". Here are 5 reasonsthat make you a fanatic.
1.All your plans revolve around the show
Every Sunday night, you can catch me watching "Game of thrones" on my TV. Any other crazy fan of a show can relate. You know when your favorite show airs and you will not be anywhere else but on your couch watching TV when it's showtime. You don't make plans because you don't want to miss the show. Or, if you happen to be out, you rush home so you ensure that you will make it on time. There is no such thing as recording the show and watching it later because you would rather watch it live. For a fan, there's nothing better then watching your favorite show once a week.
2. The show makes you emotional
I am not an emotional person when it comes to shows because I understand that it is just a show. Sometimes though, a show is more then a show. You become emotionally attached to all of the characters. You feel as though you know them personally. When they are in trouble your heart starts pounding as you are worried for their fate. If they live after an epic battle, you jump with joy but will sob if they end up dying. You can go from happy, to sad, to excited, to scared all in one episode. No other show but your favorite show can make you feel like this.
3. You own fan gear
Whether it is a shirt, a poster, a keychain or all three like myself, you can officially call yourself a fan. You can't go into a merchandise store without your eyes wondering around with what object you can find to possibly purchase. You show off your fan-gear proudly. Plus, I've noticed I always have a little part of "Game of Thrones" with me wherever I go and I think that's pretty cool. It also catches other people's eyes and it is a good conversation starter. My key chain of my favorite character has sparked many interests.
4. When the season is over you feel lost.
The season just finished, you are satisfied with how the season ended, now what though? Some shows don't make you wait that long while others will make you wait a whole year (like "Game of Thrones"). Your favorite show just ended and now you need to find something else to keep you entertained. You know nothing can compare though, so you don't even try to look for another series to start watching. You are stuck waiting for the new season to air. You might even have withdrawals of your favorite show and will re-watch the entire series again, or maybe just your favorite episodes. As a fan, you just can't get enough.
5. Those that aren't a fan of the same show as you do not understand the hype.
To me, it feels as though when I am talking to other "Game of Throne" fans, we get lost in the conversation and are in our own little world. I've noticed though, those that don't watch the show just look at me as though I am crazy. You will feel insulted when someone who isn't a fan talks down about the show. "It's just a show" they will say. "Just a show? No, it's only the greatest show ever" you will quickly respond. These people will never understand the love you have for the show. Instead, they will just think you are crazy. You be a fanatic though, you go and praise your favorite show.
You cry over your favorite characters from your favorite show, you even laugh over them. You could probably quote word for word your favorite scene. You talk highly of the show. Are you a show fanatic?
