We get together and it is like we were never apart.

When girls go off to college or live on their own, they tend to miss their friends that they had from high school. Staying friends hasn't always been the easiest at times. There are moments where I think we all may be drifting apart. I think of a lot of the good times with friends that make it all worth it. These are some things that we do when we get back together.

1. We gossip

We have got a lot to catch up on. Knowing everyone's business is one thing, but talking about it is way more fun.

2. We fight

Friends fight. We all do it. We just have to remember that fighting is not the end of the world, neither is finding out who can throw the best punch.

3. We do some reminiscing

Whenever we start talking about all the stupid stuff we did in high school, it makes me miss the time we had together and how much we took each others company for granted.

4. We make plans

Trying to make plans with each other is literally always a problem we can't solve. Everyone has such different schedules but somehow, we make it all work.

5. We have less time than we thought

And lastly, although our time was well spent, it was short lived.

Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
