Christmas break is something that we all look forward to. Christmas especially is many people’s favorite holiday (as it is mine). I am so excited for Christmas break and I am really looking forward to it. As soon as I take my last final Wednesday I get to leave (Yay!). While I am happy for the break, there are some things that I am thankful for about it as well. Below I will list the five things I am thankful for.
1. Spending time with family and friends.
I am so excited to be able to spend lots of time with my family. Being two hours away makes it hard to see my family a lot, so I can’t wait to be able to spend lots of time with them. And my family from Pennsylvania is coming so I am very excited I get to spend time with them also (it’s been forever). Family is one the most important things to me and I have really missed my family members lots when I have been at college. It’ll be great! Also, I get to spend time with my cats which I am pumped for (yes, I am a crazy cat lady). I am so excited to spend time with my friends as well from back home. I have missed them dearly.
2. Relaxing.
While I will be working a lot, it’ll still be nice to be at my own home and be in my own bed. When I have free time, I plan on watching a lot of Netflix and crocheting a lot. It’ll be nice to just have a break and not have to worry about school or anything else. I will also be thankful when I can sleep in and not worry about 8 am classes.
3. Home cooked meals.
Home cooked meals are so amazing, oh my gosh. Trust me, eating at Alpha or Subco every day is getting so old. I can’t wait to have an actual home cooked meal like I am super pumped for it. I am extremely thankful that I am lucky enough to have this because I know many people don’t get it.
4. Free laundry.
What more do I have to say besides this? I will be so thankful when I get to do free laundry for almost a month and not have to worry about finding quarters. I am very thankful we have a washer and dryer and home.
5. The real meaning.
This is the most important thing. I am extremely thankful for God and everything he has done for me. God has blessed me with so much. So, while I am home relaxing and doing nothing, I know to remember to be thankful for what matters the most. Jesus is the real meaning for the Christmas season because without him we wouldn’t have anything. I will keep this in mind while I am at home for the break.
So, I am extremely thankful that I get to go home in a few days. I even have a count down because of how excited I am. Hopefully, this Christmas break will be good and I can’t wait to hear about everyone else’s!
