1. The colors.
One of the best parts of fall is watching the trees change color. The world becomes much more vibrant, filled with brilliant reds, oranges and yellows. Especially having lived in Nevada all my life, I know there are plenty of opportunities to explore the vibrancy that covers the Sierras. One of the best places to go is Apple Hill, or simply drive up into the mountains and see what there is to discover.
2. Scarves.
Wearing a scarf gives the idea that there is a chill in the air, but it’s not freezing yet. And that’s what fall is. A slight nip in the air that makes your cheeks pink and gives you a reason for hot apple cider. When the wind blows you, can easily snuggle into your scarf and be nice cozy.
3. Pumpkin Spice Latte.
And pumpkins in general. Fall food is lovely because of the spices and scents that always fill the air. While you are snuggled up in your nice cozy scarf, you can also enjoy a spicy and warm beverage. Pumpkin Spice Lattes are all the rage in the fall. Being a barista, I have had people asking for weeks when it was coming back. And it’s finally here so go out and enjoy it.
4. Thanksgiving.
I will admit that Thanksgiving is one of the best holidays because you get to pig out. Nevertheless, I love the cooking, too. The anticipation of cooking, waiting, smelling and then finally eating makes the whole holiday so much better. Not to mention the elegance and being surrounded by family.
5. Halloween.
The history and traditions of Halloween date back farther than we can comprehend to sacred rituals and dances by the moonlight. But now it’s all about candy and costumes, and who can refuse that? Designing costumes is always exciting for me. Giving out candy to kids is fun, too. But all I can say is there is something magical about Halloween and that’s not just because the witches are out. We can all feel it.
