Second semester is finally upon us, my friends. It can sometimes be difficult to want to go back since you've been home for a solid four weeks and just got comfortable, but I know that I am very ready to head back to school and be busy! Here are some things you can look forward to for this semester.
A fresh start. This is probably the best one. If your fall semester didn't go as according to plan as you hoped it would, that's okay, because now you have a completely new semester with four months to redeem yourself. I suggest making a couple of goals that you want to accomplish for this semester, whether that be getting on the Dean's List or joining a new organization. There is still plenty of time to make your academic and social life even better than it was for the first go-round.
The weather is getting warmer, not colder. Alright, I totally get how cold it is when you get back, and it can be bone-chilling in January and February. But keep your head up because March, April, and May are coming and it will slowly get warmer, and it will be a nice surprise when you've been angry and bitter about the cold for so long.
Spring Break is coming! One whole week in the middle of the semester is just what we need to relax and unwind right as things start getting hectic. It's also a great opportunity to escape the cold and head somewhere warm with a bunch of your friends and drink margaritas on the beach. Or maybe you like to ski and you can hit the slopes and then warm up with a nice hot chocolate. Either way, you really can't go wrong with a spring break at home or away on vacation. Once you get this far, you've conquered the first half of the semester and only have half of it left! Keep truckin' along!
Formal season. This could be the diamond of all gems for spring semester. No matter where you go to school or where you go for a formal, getting away from the craziness at school is so much fun when you get to be with your friends and boyfriend/date to dress up and let loose! Formals are an unpredictable weekend that you'll be sure to never forget, because there's just something about them that make them the jack of all trades to top off your semester.
Summer. As you wind down for the semester and start taking finals, the reward is that you're finally free and it's summer! The weather is hot, the drinks are cold, and that summer job is calling your name! Make the most of your summer by working hard, but still finding time to relax.
Second semester is your time to flourish like those pretty little flowers in spring! Keep blooming and don't be as cheesy as me this semester.
