5 Quirky Habits You Pick Up When You're Best Friends With Twins

Being friends with twins is probably the coolest thing ever. It's also one of the most rewarding thing ever. There's so much that I learned about being a better friend, because when you're friends with twins, you have to pick up on a few things. These are a few things that I picked up over the last year being friends with twins.

1. You learn to see people for who they are.

The biggest pet peeve that twins have are being grouped as one individual. They hate when people just assume they like the same things just because they're twins. They also hate it when you call them the wrong name and you don't really try to learn their names properly. As a result of these things, I have learned to look at people's personality and see what they have to offer as a friend. It has made me a better friend in the long run because I don't just assume a certain thing about people because of what they look like.

2. Buying gifts for them is the easiest or hardest thing.

If they have similar interests, then buying or making gifts for them is the easiest thing to do. Just get the same shirt in two different colors and you're good to go. But if they have different tastes, it gets a little harder, especially when you're like me and once you gift wrap an item you forget what you put in it and you have to figure out who it goes to.

3. You start to remember the weird things about everyone you meet.

Until I was able to tell my friends apart, I used to look at their chin and see which one had the freckle. It sounds a little strange but it works. I only call them by the wrong name on accident every once in a while. Because of this weird habit I built, I now remember the odd things about other people when I meet them. It kind of comes in handy when you meet, like, 100 people during your first day of college. I may not remember the names but I can remember who I met and haven't met based off of weird quirks they have.

4. You imagine what it would be like to have your own twin.

If you're like me you've wondered on occasion what it would be like to have your own twin. I mean, it's gotta be pretty cool to have double the wardrobe size. But more importantly, I wondered what it would be like to always have someone around that you could confide in. Having a twin is basically having a built in best friend and I think that is the coolest thing.

5. You get the sisters or brothers that you've always wanted.

I'm not saying that this happens every time you have friends that are twins but it happened for me. Granted, I have a younger sister, which is nice, and I love her, but it's also nice to have friends my age that I consider sisters. You can go to them with anything and they will always be there just like they're always there for their twin.

Being friends with twins is a pretty special thing and as cheesy as it sounds it's one of the things that I treasure most. Everyone should get a chance in life to be friends with twins because it really is such a rewarding experience.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
