The way life works is actually kind of weird. You can have what seems to be the worst week of all time, and life will be there to knock on your door and make it suck even more. There's always that one thing that doesn't go as planned or one thing that you're convinced was created to be the cause of all your pain and suffering (AKA 8am's). Life doesn't always give you a quick fix to make things easier or to just suck less, it makes things hard.

But the way God works is even weirder because he'll take all the tests you failed, broken hearts, bad days, and shitty moments of life and almost make you appreciate them. It sounds like an out of this world idea to think that we could actually find some common ground on a day/ week/ month/ year from hell, but if anyone can pull off this impossible task- its the main man upstairs.

You see, God's got a little deal that he can set you up with I like to call "the give and take policy."

The terms of His policy are actually pretty simple- you give him every moment that falls short of sunshine and rainbows and He'll take it all away. It doesn't matter what happened, when it happened, or why it happened, God is offering to you right now to take the hurt, suffering, failures, and, pitfalls of life away from you and give you something better.

So, when you think that life has knocked the last out of you and that you don't have anything left to give, here are 5 things God wants to give you to keep going.

1. Love

John 3:16- "For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only living son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."

We've all heard this verse before but it is so crucial to understand how much love God pours into us. He gave his only living and breathing son so that He could just love you. Even if there was no one else on the entire earth but you, God would still do it all over again because He has so much love to pour into you.

2. Strength

Psalm 73:26- "My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."

Whether you don't have enough fight left in you to make it through or you just need an extra push to keep you going, God is lifting you up to make you strong again. In every moment of weakness and failure God is by your side to strengthen you and give you new life.

3. Peace

Matthew 6:34- "There do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

There probably aren't enough hours in the day that we could spend thinking about the future. Whether it's an assignment coming up, a job we applied for, or even just figuring out what to eat for dinner- God's says that He's got it. We don't have to waste time worrying about whether or not things will workout in the future because God has already had it all planned out since the moment He created us.

4. Hope

Jeremiah 29:11- "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Nothing about the future is certain to us, we don't know where we're gonna end up or what's gonna happen to us. The cool thing is that God already knows all of that and He wants to give us hope for this amazing plan He has prepared. He wants to pour hope into our hearts because it helps us remember that life can still be so good.

5. A Second Chance

Isaiah 43:18- "Forget the former things, do not dwell on the past."

We don't always get things right the first time and sometimes we still get it wrong a lot of times after that, but God gives us a chance to try and try again until we get it right. Life doesn't always give you a redo or a second try but God wants to meet you where you are and move forward from the past. Nothing about the past matters to Him, it's all about the future.

There are so many things that God wants to give us and even if just one of these things appeals to you- take it. "The give and take policy" with God is never gonna get leave you empty handed even if you feel like you have nothing left to give to life.
