5 Things College Kids Say They Will Do To Get Fit, Even If They're Lying

They never work.

working out

Everyone tries to get fit some time in college, but there are just so many things that don't work out in our favor. Pun not intended. Sort of.

1. "I'm working out before class in the morning."

This always sounds like a good idea until you actually hear your alarm in the morning and realize you've snoozed your alarm about 17 times.

2. "I'm only going to eat salad from the dining halls."

But then you stumble upon Mrs. Mei's fresh, warm, chocolate chip cookies. Ok, the salad thing will definitely start tomorrow.

3. "No more eating past 8 p.m."

Most days you don't even get home that early, and how are you going to cope with that deprivation after a long day?

4. "I'm going to buy cute workout clothes so that I will be excited to work out in them."

Nope. You just get excited to wear them to class.

5. "OMG we should be workout partners!"

You find out that instead of being alone in the aforementioned scenarios, you now have someone who does the same exact things as you. You now just have a person to relate to about getting fit, but not actually.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
