5 Teas That Promote Your Health

Tea comes from all around the world. One common similarity between all tea intentions is to heal. Tea can reduce blood pressure, prevent obesity and ease anxiety. Although now our liquid diets are comprised of bubbly, high fructose corn syrup and flat, overly sweetened "fruit" *cough* sugar *cough* "juice."

In the USA, perhaps it comes as no surprise that carbonated soft drinks are the most-consumed beverages, with an average of 44.7 gallons consumed per person, per year. Rounding out the top three is bottled water at 28.3 gallons and beer at 20.8 gallons.

1. Kava kava root tea.

For anyone who wants a relaxing evening without the styrofoam cup, kava kava root tea is the strand for you. Kava kava has been known since ancient times to provide anxiety relief and aid in curing depression. I must admit the taste is a bit funky, but it's definitely worth it. Your body will instantly melt and your mind will be put at ease. However, kava kava taken in large, frequent quantities can damage your liver, so please be cautious.

2. Green tea.

Green tea is a wonderful way to clean your body of toxins, promote a healthy immune system and ward off obesity. In the United States, a country that purposely poisons its citizens, has some of the most outrageous cancer rates in all of the world. Green tea has been proven to reduce risk of cancer and provide the body with large amounts of much needed antioxidants. The tea also contains epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) naturally, which has been used to treat various medical ailments.

3. Raspberry leaf tea.

Raspberry leaf tea is known for its skin and health-nourishing qualities. The tea can help balance hormones in women while providing healthy, hydrated skin, as raspberry helps repair any broken or damaged cells.

4. Peppermint tea.

Peppermint tea is one of my favorite teas, as it not only relaxes but rejuvenates me. The tea helps relieve tension within one's body by reducing inflammation and ending muscle spasms. The tea also works wonders for those with a belly ache. If you ever feel sick, a cup of this tea will ensure you no longer need to puke. The tea reduces bloating, gas and nausea. Not to mention your mouth and soul will smell sexy.

5. Echinacea tea.

Echinacea aids in ending allergy symptoms and helps strengthen the immune system. There are other various medical conditions it also helps, such as anxiety, arthritis and essentially any infection you could think of. This is the wonder leaf, as its benefits are never ending. Please be cautious when buying echinacea tea, as most commercial brands don't even contain echinacea, despite container labels. Opt for a verified brand and strand.
