The Five Best Spots Online To Find Great Music
Maine Today

I get bored of my playlists easily despite having over 3,000 songs on my iTunes library, so I’m constantly on the lookout for new, good music. Luckily for me, there’s a plethora of beautiful music and talented artists out there that I still have yet to explore.

When I’m looking for music, I rely on these five websites, blog spots and social media accounts that never fail to provide diverse selections that are continuously updated.

1. Complex
Most of you have probably heard of the media platform Complex, which reports fashion, art and music trends to the public. Although the corporation tends to typically report on mainstream artists and their news as well as music, Complex has been a platform for the careers of upcoming artists such as Niykee Heaton and Kehlani. Complex lives up to the meaning of their trademarked name, providing basically anything you can think of that relates to the world of music.

2. Daily Chiefers
Although this blog site has a smaller following than Complex, it is undoubtedly the best resource for talented hip-hop artists who have recently hit the music scene. The blog team also immediately reports the release of new songs from already well-known artists like Drake and A$AP Rocky.

3. Pigeons and Planes
This Indie-influenced site was created by Jacob Moore in 2008 for people like myself who enjoy all genres. The blog specializes in Indie music but covers a wide range of genres and reports the latest music news. The music website is owned and operated by Complex Magazine but provides a different flavor of musical coverage. Following them on Twitter is an easy and great way to find new music.

4. The Music Ninja
If you’re a fan of remixes and house music, The Music Ninja will be a great resource for you. I’ve come to appreciate its originality and user-friendly website that provides followers with a diverse resource for music. As you scroll down the home page, the website has a stream of new mixes that you can browse through and listen to.

5. Indie Shuffle
For all the Indie music junkies out there, Indie Shuffle will overwhelm you with awesome new tracks and artists. Their Twitter feed is composed of a constant stream of new songs and remixes of your favorites that you’ll be playing on repeat. However, don’t be fooled by this blogs trademark name; they do not solely boast the genre of Indie music but also have a reputable compilation of hip-hop.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
