1. The weather: We basically have summer weather all year round. Who doesn't love to wake up in the mornings and put on a tank top, shorts and some flip flops to go to class? This is way better than waking up and putting 35 layers of clothing and snow boots to walk to class when the weather is bone-chilling. Yes, the continuous rainy days in Gainesville might subtract some points, but let's deal with it. Its summer everyday in the Gator Nation.
2. Perfect balance between school and party: Students in UF are well-known for having that perfect balance between getting an "A+" in class but also getting an "A+" in partying. Students have excellent equilibrium when it comes to managing their college duties so that they can enjoy the weekend the way a college student should. They definitely know that "the juice is worth the squeeze". Thank you midtown...
3. Athletes: We can definitely brag about the athletes that were developed in this school. Tim Tebow, Joakim Noah and well...Aaron Hernandez. Although we can't brag about him any more, we did for a little bit. But hey... Tim Tebow's the man! We should definitely feel proud about him playing in the NFL for the Broncos. Also, it's awesome to watch him every Saturday commenting on College Football, and always representing the Gator Nation in a positive manner with his clever analysis.
4. Location: Could there be a better place for a college town than Gainesville? Gainesville itself has a population of about 100,000 people; and UF has about 50000 students. You do the math. This means that wherever you go, you'll definitely be interacting with students that go to your same school. Also, as a student you really don't go around much in actual Gainesville. If you're a student here, your daily routine is either by University Avenue, 13th street, 34th or Archer...making the "college town" definition even more precise.
5. Gamedays: Who doesn't love em? Especially at the Gator Nation, where Gainesville dresses up in blue and orange every Saturday to cheer on the football team at the Swamp. 90000 fans all screaming, chomping and roaring defending their colors and supporting the team. The tailgates are definitely the cherry on top of the cake. Whether you're in Greek life or not, tailgates happen all around campus. A good ol' steak with an ice cold beer and excellent company make the game experience unbelievable. Also, the ladies take the time to dress up and look spectacular, to the point where we as guys have to decide whether to watch the game or the girls.
