What do you mean you don't use a planner? As a person who lives off of being organized, I am always baffled when I talk to people and they tell me that they never use planners to write down their to-do lists, homework, grocery lists, or simple reminders like "hey go to the gym." As I'm sure my face paints a thousand pictures when people tell me how they don't believe it's necessary to have planners with them at all times, I begin to realize that having your best friend be your planner isn't exactly normal. Having a Type A personality, or one where without organization and structure you would fall apart, is a blessing to me. While I envy some of those people who truly can just "go with the flow", nothing is more satisfying than crossing off that thing on your planner and channeling your inner Monica Geller and saying, "Check!" Here are 5 signs you have a Type A personality and as you read this, I'm sure you too are saying, "Yep, that sounds about right."
1. Your planner is your best friend. And no, I'm not exaggerating this.
Planners become your way of life. They help keep you in check and remind you of everything you need to get done that day, week, or month. If you lose your planner you feel like your life has exploded, but when you find it, all is right in the world.
2. You make a list for everything. And I mean everything.
Whether it's a grocery list, homework list, or simply a list of things to do before bed, you love making them. There is nothing more satisfying to a Type A than crossing off those things to-do.
3. You HATE when people are late.
No matter how many times you tell people that we are leaving at 7, there always seems to be that one person who thinks 7 really means 7:30. As you sit there impatiently waiting on them you can't help but to think, "They should have made a list of things to remember to do. Like to be on time."
4. The word "relax" has quite the different meaning to it.
For most people, to relax means to take off from work and lay out by the beach or with friends. But for a Type A, to relax means to continue to do work, because relaxing turns out to be more stressful than actually doing work.
5. The more things you have to get done, the faster you talk.
While this one can be annoying, the more things that are on your handy-dandy to-do list causes you to feel as if even breathing is a waste of your time. Wanna have a conversation with a Type A when they're stressed? Get ready to keep up with one quick conversation.
While having a Type B personality would be great for many reasons, Type A's of the world are the ones who get things done. So to all you Type A's, keep on checking.
