Describe a typical Italian. Dark hair, dark eyes, dark skin, and a last name ending in a vowel. If you're Italian you know the struggles and perks of truly being Italian. If you're like me, you get it.
1. You have a Nonna
Everybody you know mocks you for not calling your grandma, grandma, and when you're little you have to explain to every kid that Nonna means grandmother in Italian. Try having a Mor Mor and a Nonna, that's a tough one to explain.
2. You have a whole day dedicated to Fat Tuesday
Whether you celebrate on Fat Tuesday or not you sure do love to eat the food your family took days to prepare. My family loves to eat ravioli for Fat Tuesday, and let me tell you I sure do get fat.
3. You tan in .05 seconds
Want to keep your pale skin? No way if you're Italian. You can go outside for the day and come back three shades darker than you were earlier in the day.
4. Everybody mispronounces your last name
Italian last names aren't even hard to say! I was a swimmer, and for years they would call me Santori or Santono. I used to get so mad, but now it just comes with the territory of being Italian.
5. Everybody wants to be Italian
Everybody wants to join in on the cool festivities you celebrate, and see your awesome homeland, and of course eat all your good food.
If you're Italian, you totally get it.
