The holidays are right around the corner, and before we know it, it'll be December 25, the day we receive the gifts we have been impatiently waiting to open Christmas morning. Granted, receiving is much more pleasurable than scurrying last minute in search of the perfect gift for someone else. The holiday is all fun and games until you realize you have to start planning for not only family and friends, but for your secret Santa you were assigned a month earlier. Of course, shopping for just the right gift can sometimes be a tricky and time consuming task. And, lets face it, nobody wants to get stuck with a bad gift giver and more importantly, no one wants to be the bad gift giver. Whether shopping for friends, family, siblings, or even co-workers, these five gifts listed below are a few that your secret Santa will ACTUALLY want.

1. Wireless Headphones

While every year there is a mutual agreement to keep the budget under 30$, a pair of wireless head phonesare an absolute necessity this holiday season. A few times too many, I catch myself taking an excessive amount of time untangling my headphones or shoving them into my ears every time I go to the gym. With wireless headphones, stress no more and enjoy your workout with no distractions!

2. Waterproof Phone Case

For clumsy people like myself, this is a must-have feature. Not only does a waterproof case protect the phone from water exposure, it also protects it from food, dirt and other spills you may have! This phone case is undeniably one of the most beneficial and useful gifts a Secret Santa can give.

3. Yeti Rambler

Nothing is more frustrating than clenching your thirst with a nice, warm bottle of water that's been heated from the blazing sun on a summer day. Am I right? If you can relate to this frustration, a Yeti Rambler is a gift winner this holiday season! With its doubled stainless steel covering, Yeti products are guaranteed to keep your cold beverages cool and your hot cup of coffee hot for up to six hours! This is by far one of the greatest gift ideas that anyone would be lucky to receive!

4. Fingerless Gloves

In this day and age, it is incredibly difficult to not actively use our phones and other devices every minute of the day. It is safe to say that without technology and constant reliance on our electronics, we would go absolutely nuts. With the frigid weather approaching, we need to be cautious and bundle up! These fingerless gloves not only keep our hands warm and protected from the cold weather, but also allow us to text away at the same time! What more could you ask for?

5. Selfie Stick

If your secret Santa recipient is a selfie fanatic, this is the perfect gift for them! With an easy, quick click of a button, a selfie can be taken directly from your iPhone! For someone who is in love with capturing fun, crazy selfies, this would be an astounding surprise.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
