I feel like every single time I get on any form of social media, someone new is engaged, or in a new relationship, or even going on a date. I'll admit for awhile I felt left out and [slightly] lonely. But here's five reasons why you're still single, and five reasons why that is totally okay and you should embrace it.
1. You're too mature for the guys your age.
Don't digress, just be patient as they catch up. They [hopefully] will, sooner or later. Until then, keep being the absolute best version of you.
2. You're not meant to stay where you're at.
Ever consider that you haven't met the perfect guy where you are, because it's not where you're meant to be for the rest of your life? This is the world's way of telling you that meeting a guy here is only holding you back from a bigger adventure that is meant to happen. So, take a deep breath and think of your future, if there's any piece of you that is thinking about settling down elsewhere, don't ignore it!
3. You have high standards.
DON'T YOU DARE SETTLE FOR LESS. Seriously, keep your head and standards high because there will be a guy who will jump over the moon to be your Prince Charming.
4. You're not ready.
This is so important. You might personally think you're ready, but I can tell you now that if all you're thinking about is the fact that you're still single, you're not ready for a relationship. There is so many other things going on in the background of your life that you don't even realize and instead you need to focus on your foundation, not the added bonus of a significant other. Build yourself, improve your life in every single area until you are so insanely happy that being in a relationship isn't on your radar. THEN, it will happen. Life loves to operate in that fashion.
5. You haven't met "the one" yet.
Screw all the people that say you meet the person you're going to marry by the time you're 16! In our modern day-and-age the world is getting smaller and smaller [not literally, obviously] thanks to social media and the constant urge that people have to travel. For all we know, our soulmate could very well be on the other side of the world, we just have yet to meet that person. You could meet them tomorrow, or next year, but when the time is right, the perfect match for you will enter your life and never leave.
What is so wrong with being single anyways? If you say that you're lonely, then you have bad friends and need to get yourself some better homies. Life has so much more to offer and so many other ways to love than just a significant other. Stay patient.
