Everyone knows that sisters represent the extremes when it comes to relationships. One minute you're screaming and hurling insults at each other, and the next you're laughing until you cry about some crazy inside joke. No greater aggravation exists on this planet than a sister. But no greater supporter, confidante, or partner in crime does either. At the end of the day, your sister is pretty much your built-in bestie. Here are a few reasons why.

1. You survived childhood together

You grew up together, lived together, maybe even shared a room. No matter what the age difference, you both experienced the same milestones and faced the same struggles. Whether it was setting out on your own for your first day of kindergarten, learning to deal with mean girls in school, or heading off to college, your sister has not only watched you grow up and do life, she has been beside you the entire time!

2. You both have to deal with the same dysfunctional family

No apologies, awkward explanations, or embarrassment is required when talking about your family to your sister; she's part of the craziness! Whether it's listening to your parents sing '70s music loudly and off-key on road trips or sitting through all the drama and uncomfortable hugs from extended family members at reunions, you've both been raised in the crazy and contribute to it every day.

3. Fights are a normal part of the relationship

Tears, profuse apologies, and promises never to fight again have no place in your relationship with your sister. You have been perfecting arguing techniques for years to use against her. Loud, wild screaming matches and even knock-down, drag-out fights are the norm for you two. You're not afraid to tell it like it is, and neither is she. Then, the next day, you're back to being besties! Fights are just fights between sisters.

4. Your sister understands and accepts your weirdness like no one else can

She watched you develop into the person you are today, so she understands more than anyone else the reasons behind your weirdness and brushes it off as totally normal. You don't have to suppress your natural tendencies to speak your strangest thoughts or act like a complete and utter goofball. Your sister might laugh or roll her eyes, but she effortlessly accepts the wackiest aspects of your personality because she has adapted to it over many years.

5. And finally, your sister has your back 24/7

Let's face it, your sister will go to extraordinary (sometimes super embarrassing) lengths to protect you. She teases and tortures you constantly, but if anyone else even thinks about treating you badly, it's on. If a mean girl spreads vicious gossip behind your back, she'll confront her and take her down. If a guy broke your heart without a care, she'll rip him a new one. Whoever dares to bully you will rue the day they were born when your sister hunts them down. Rue it, I say!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
