I feel like this article isn’t even necessary because I feel like it’s so abundantly obvious why your gramma should be your number one. I mean, have you met this woman? She’s like super woman or something.

However, for those of you who need a little reminder, here are five reasons why your gramma should be your best friend.

1. She always has your back

If you think anyone is going to back you up more than your gramma will, you need to take a moment and really think that through. This woman is someone who will do everything in her power to make sure you are the happiest you can be. She’s going to take your side (almost) every time. She is the one person who has more control than your mother and that’s such a magical thing.

2. You will never be hungry

Your grams will never let you starve, ever. Let’s not pretend for one second that we all aren’t thinking about food at least 98.7 percent of the time. We are all hungry, all the time. And what’s amazing about your gramma is that while you want to eat all the time, she wants to feed you all the time. Talk about the perfect set-up.

3. She is your number one fan

While yes your parents are typically your number one fans, let’s not count out your gramma. That woman wants nothing more than to see you succeed. Long before you, she wanted that for your parents. However, then you came along and things slightly changed because the love a gramma has for their grandchild is something out of this world.

4. She always laughs at your jokes

No matter how terrible, how cheesy, or how stupid, she thinks you’re basically the next Daniel Tosh (and Lord knows your jokes are the equivalent to those on a milk carton). I can’t tell you how many times I’ve said something that I thought was hilarious and my parents just looked at me like, “Why did we have this child?” But then over there in the corner is my grams laughing right along with me. That kind of support is key.

5. Her love is unconditional.

Your grams is going to love you no matter what. You could probably accidentally catch your house on fire and she’s gonna be right there to make sure you’re okay (and see if you’re hungry). I know no matter what I do, my gramma will be right there with open and loving arms.

Obviously there are so many more reasons as to why your gramma should be your best friend, but these are just some of the top ones. Never take that woman for granted because there is nothing more special than the love of a gramma (also nothing scarier than when she’s mad but that’s not what this article is about!!)
